Classroom Rules & Procedures Ms. Johnson’s Physical Science Class

Classroom Expectations Come to class prepared & on time. Immediately start on MIND MATTER-warm- up. Speak at the appropriate time. Be respectful of your classmates, your teacher and yourself! This is a no bullying zone, we are all unique so let’s be mindful. You are responsible for your own work. Everyone is encouraged to participate!

1st Time: Silent Lunch 2nd Time: Call Home 3rd Time: Detention *If it continues there will be a referral written up*

Classroom Rules No cellphones unless I have instructed you to bring them for a class activity. No fidget spinners are allowed. No drinks or food allowed (with the exception of water bottles). You are responsible for your own work.

Homework Homework will be handed out as a packet at the start of each week Homework will be due on Fridays, you will come in and turn it in immediately to the homework tray based on your period. YOU WILL NOT WORK ON IT DURING CLASS AND TURN IT IN—that will end in a zero and you signing the missing homework slip. There will be a homework quiz at the end of each week to show what you have learned from your homework. You will keep all returned homework in the homework tab of your science binder for review

Unfinished Work In the classroom there will be a Work in Progress crate labeled by your class with your individual names on a hanging file folder. If we are doing an activity in class that you did not have time to finish, you will put it in the unfinished work crate. You have the option of taking this home at the end of class and finishing it for homework, if you are in my ELT you can finish it then.

Finished Work Early? You have a few options-but this isn’t one! ---- Oh and neither is this one You can peer evaluate and help others who could use assistance—don’t give answers, just guide! You can read a book-I suggest looking for a good one for the semester and bring it with you for downtime. You can work on work for another class, without distracting another student—if I find you cheating, I will not hesitate to tell my colleagues whose class it is you’re cheating for.
