Presentation transcript:

Bellringer for 08.31.15 In the WRITING section of your notebook, title this entry, “Bellringer 8/31: Weekly Goal.” Respond to the following in a complete paragraph: What is one goal you have for yourself THIS WEEK? What will you do to accomplish this goal? Which of the Eight Keys of Excellence will help you accomplish this goal and why?

One goal I have for myself this week is to catch up on grading by the end of the day on Friday. This will ensure that I will have a great, relaxing weekend. I will make this happen by arriving at school early each day and taking work home if I need to. One key of excellence that will help me accomplish this is Balance. Balance will help me, because it reminds me to prioritize what is most important. I will want to watch Netflix and chill, but I know I need to grade papers first.

Happy National Trail Mix Day!

Today’s Awesome Thing is… When someone holds the elevator door for you.

Word of the Day! Hooray! premonition (n)—a strong feeling that something is going to happen Raven had a premonition that she would be making a gigantic pizza, and then her premonition came true.

Goals are… Specific: Measurable: Realistic: My goal is to do well in my classes. My goal is to maintain at least an 85% in each class. Measurable: I’m going to exercise more. I’m going to exercise at least three times a week. Realistic: I’m going to earn no less than an A in each class. I’m going to get 100% in every class, every quarter.

The Eight Keys of Excellence Integrity: Match your behaviors with your values; practice what you preach. Failure Leads to Success: Learn from your mistakes Speak w/ Good Purpose: Speak honestly and kindly This is It: Make the most of every moment. Commitment: Make your dreams happen; don’t give up Ownership: Take responsibility for your actions. Flexibility: Be willing to do things differently. Balance: Keep things organized and prioritized.
