Netball SA The Netball SA community has over 32,000 members who play, coach, umpire, officiate, administer and generally love our fantastic sport. We have 41 Associations and over 340 Clubs across the state offering many opportunities to participate including the Suncorp NetSetGO introductory program, clinics, come and try days, carnivals, competition netball and association representation opportunities.  In order to participate in Netball SA and affiliated Association competitions, programs and development courses, you must be a registered member of Netball SA.

Coach development and pathways Accreditation Coach development pathway, including online and practical assessments. The coaching framework is a six-tier progression with each stage being accredited. Includes Foundation, Development, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite and High Performance levels. Coach Pathways Opportunity to progress from Club coach through to Association representative teams, Academy teams, SPNC, State and National teams. Education 7 Step Skill Progression and Fault Detection workshop aimed at supporting coach progression through the accreditation pathway. On the Court Workshops. NSA facilitators provided for coaching accreditation workshops hosted by Associations. Mentoring Mentoring for coaches in Associations and Clubs from Netball SA appointed personnel, including coach mentoring at Country Championships.

Umpire development and pathways Talent ID Talent ID for umpires in Associations and Clubs from Netball SA appointed personnel. Association visits Each year, associations are able to apply to receive a visit from NSA to provide in-house umpire mentoring and practical assessments/badge testings on their association matches. Association Finals Two neutral umpires provided each year to officiate on Association A grade Grand Finals. Education Bench Officials Education Courses. 3 Umpires introductory course. Beginner umpires in Clubs supported through the Coloured Shirt Program. In-house Rules Discussion workshops for Associations and Clubs. Accreditation Educational pathway including mentoring and practical assessments in a tiered badge system – namely C, B and A.

Player development and pathways Player Pathway Affiliation provides a pathway for players from Club through to Association, State, National and International representation. Suncorp NetSetGO Associations and Clubs introductory program for boys and girls aged 5-9. State Premier Netball Comp Opportunity to be selected and participate in the SPNC, the elite State competition known as the Nine News Netball Cup. Netball Academies Nine pre-elite netball academies are located in regional and metro areas across the state. Development and pathway opportunities for players, coaches and umpires. The Mellor Olsson Academy Games are held annually at Priceline Stadium. Representative teams Affiliation provides an opportunity to trial and be selected for State Teams – including ANL, Underage and Rubies. NSA selectors view players during the Mellor Olsson Academy Games as part of the State selection process. Academies

Insurance This program provides cover for affiliated associations and clubs including all playing members, officials, coaches, executives and voluntary workers. Association Liability Association Liability insurance is designed to protect affiliated Associations and Clubs and Directors and Officers for honest mistakes made by Directors and other Officers involved in the management of the affairs for the association or club. Indemnity is provided for loss as a result of an insured director’s ‘wrongful act’. A wrongful act is liability arising from any actual or alleged act, error or omission. Public and Products Liability Public and Products Liability insurance is designed to protect Associations and Clubs in the event you are sued by a third party for injuries or any damage caused to their property. Covers the cost of compensation to the third party, including any associated defence costs. Product liability insurance covers you in the event that any goods you supply cause injury, illness, loss or damage to a member of the public, e.g. food prepared and sold at a fundraising day.

Insurance (continued) Personal Accident Personal Accident insurance provides cover in the event that members are injured whilst participating or travelling to or from training or events that are sanctioned by NSA or affiliated Associations or Clubs. Including all: Official events Playing, training and trialling Official social events/fundraising Travel to and from the above activities Professional Indemnity Professional Liability insurance provides cover in the event that members are sued by a person who claims they were injured as a result of professional negligence. Mainly provides cover for accredited coaches and umpires who give advice when a member is training or competing in an event. Property Insurance All property belonging to an affiliated Association or Club up to an amount of $20,000 (with option to increase cover). Includes sporting equipment, outbuildings, contents, electronic equipment, stock, etc.

Management and administration Member protection Child Safe policies and procedures. NSA has lodged a Child Safe Compliance Statement with Families SA on behalf of our Associations and Clubs. Free police checks on Netball SA affiliated Association and Club volunteers. National Member Protection Policy and Codes of Behaviour. Netball SA MPIO and Child Safe Officer. Funding support Support letters for clubs and associations seeking funding and grants. Policies and procedures National and State policies to assist Associations and Clubs in managing their day-to-day operations. Complaint handling/dispute resolution Dedicated representative at Netball SA for all member complaints/ disputes. Support to Associations and Clubs when handling complaints/disputes. National complaint handling procedures linked to the National Member Protection Policy.

Management and administration (cont’d) MyNetball training and support Comprehensive technology platform free of charge with affiliation for Associations and Clubs. Provides tools for people management, registration management, competition set up and competitions management. Provides a website for every affiliated Club and Association. Sponsorship opportunities Dedicated commercial team seeking sponsorship opportunities for our associations and clubs, e.g. Homestart Park at SA Districts. Volunteer management support Netball SA volunteer management plan for Associations and Clubs. Budding Leaders Program aimed at building leadership skills of our young people in affiliated Clubs and Associations. Club Excellence Award Annual award open to any Club competing in an affiliated Association with a $2,000 grant from Netball SA. Facility development State-wide Facilities Plan and National Facilities Guidelines.

Community programs and events One Netball Connected Clubs and Communities Workshops held in Associations and Clubs aimed at making the netball environment more inclusive. Programs to cater for boys, indigenous players, all abilities players and CALD groups. Fast5 Program Affiliated Associations have access to the new national Fast 5 program, an alternative to traditional netball. ANZAC Medal Matches Associations can participate in the ANZAC Medal Program which aligns with the RSL and honors servicemen and women in an A grade netball match on or around ANZAC Day each year. Mellor Olsson Academy Games Annual competition for our pre-elite Academies from across the State. Association Carnivals Opportunity for affiliated Clubs to compete in netball carnivals hosted by affiliated Associations across the State.
