What is a Cell? Cells are microscopic and are made of similar building blocks; enclosed by cell membrane that is filled with cytoplasm and organelles Cytoplasm= The gel-like substance inside a cell that contains molecular building blocks (proteins, nucleic acids, etc.) as well as organelles Organelles= structures specialized to preform distinct processes within the cell

Two Types of Cells Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic: “Pro” means “before” “Karyon” means nucleus “Eu” means “true” So what does Prokaryotic mean? What does Eukaryotic mean?
