New police The 19th century saw the development of Police systems, because of the growing crime rate. European states established civilian police forces containing well trained officers to save lives, arrest offenders and keep the peace.

Counties police forces In 1829 France saw the police starting up by a man named Louis-Maurice Debelleyme. The French police hit the streets in March 1829 and were known as serjents. The British police forces also hit the streets in 1829 replacing constables with the British officers known as Bobbies.
