The Introduction of Autism Speaks to Microsoft 2015 & How to Engage Microsoft to Become A Partner In your Community and The Benefits You Can Earn From The Partnership

Why Microsoft? Did You know? Microsoft offers non-profit organizations $25/each hour their employee volunteers for the cause Microsoft has the ability to match donations Microsoft has ability to host in-store events to create a safe environment for those invited Microsoft donated over $940 million in software donations to non-profits in 2014 Microsoft encourages its employees to volunteer Each local store holds the power to determine which non-profits it gets behind, volunteers for and supports through sponsorship!

How Autism Speaks can get involved at local level: Autism Speaks and Microsoft are a great partner, and here’s why: Microsoft is eager to partner with non-profits and supports volunteer hours, creating walk teams, in-store events and more Microsoft offers interactive programs for adults and children on the spectrum Microsoft can work with young adults to learn coding and design and can offer events centered around this model in-store Microsoft has programs to help families work with their children on the spectrum Microsoft can provide on-site activities on walk day with sponsorship to include area for young children with XBOX stations, a spot with service pros to work with young adults and offer ways to create and engage with the autism community

Deadline For All Stores To Be Contacted: August 7th Next Steps at Local Level: Deadline For All Stores To Be Contacted: August 7th There are currently 104 stores across the US. You can find a list of all stores at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/locations or via our internal Microsoft One Drive Document at: 2015 Microsoft Engagement Initiative Call them and ask for their Community Development and Events contact and make an introduction! Work to setup an in person meeting to discuss ways Microsoft can work with Autism Speaks by suggesting: Creation of Walk Teams Employee Volunteer Opportunities at walk or other events with volunteer dollar match Walk Sponsorship with interactive booth space at walk In-store sensory friendly event with potential fundraising component Once partnership is confirmed, please alert both Christie Godowski and Peter Morton of the project scope, stores included and next steps to be taken in your market

Financial Goal Per Walk Market: $3,500 Immediate 2015 Goal: $3500/walk through team money, sponsorship and/or volunteer participation Long-term Goal: To build a cohesive national sponsorship with Microsoft. If Autism Speaks were to activate participation through any of the elements mentioned at the local level across the United States the case will be created for a national campaign opportunity for years ahead!

2015 Success Story: Chicago Walk 2015: Microsoft generated $4975 in revenue ($3500 sponsorship/$1975 in volunteer hour donations) In-store Events: Microsoft will hold 3 events in 2015 for families to engage their kids. These events will keep walk teams engaged, build awareness and help drive traffic to Microsoft stores. Events to include: Party and tablet giveaway, App lesson and tournament, Project Spark and Fresh Paint Microsoft Volunteers: Volunteers from Microsoft were at the 2015 walk, in-store events, and other Autism Speaks events in community, as well as created a walk team

2015 Success Stories Continued: Microsoft Community Relations Specialist Megan Wright stated: “ Walk Now for Autism Speaks was a huge success. Microsoft had our Xbox One tent to let kids and families get hands on game time and ask all of their questions. We handed out lots of fun swag and flyers during the walk and after party!”
