T ogether E ach A chieves M ore Successful organisations have effective teams. A team is a collection of people working together to achieve a common goal.

WHAT IS A TEAM? WHAT TEAM(S) DO YOU BELONG TO? A group of two or more people who are striving for the SAME goal and who RELY on each other to achieve that goal. Team members who set a goal together will be more committed to achieving that goal. Allowing each member to have input into the direction of the team will strengthen the motivation of the team to succeed WHAT TEAM(S) DO YOU BELONG TO?

What is a ‘group’? A group is a collection of people in the workplace who are brought together because of a common link, for example similar skills.

CULTURAL DIFFERENCES IN TEAMS the value of teamwork verses emphasis on individual effort work ethic – different cultures display different work ethics religious and political beliefs – may influence a person’s need for time off, ability to perform certain tasks, need to observe certain practices during work times interpersonal and communication skills – not all team members English is not their first language

For good customer satisfaction and good work relationships, teamwork is a must!
