Pass Interference Basics Pass interference is interfering with an ELIGIBLE opponent’s opportunity to move toward, catch or bat the pass, Pass Interference rules ONLY apply beyond the NZ when a LEGAL FP crosses the NZ, In most cases, PI will involve CONTACT between two opponents, though it is NOT required (see faceguarding). Act must occur inbounds and beyond NZ It is NOT PI is contact is unavoidable and it results from a simultaneous and bona fide attempt by both players to reach, catch, or bat the pass. NEW RULE CHANGE; It is NOT PI if contact occurs away from direction pass is thrown. Catchability is NOT considered in high school football There can be NO PI behind the NZ L Click flag to return to Scrimmage Play Menu or Click position letter for its play situation mechanic
