Committee Charge Fred K.Y. Lo

EVLA Development VLA was the leading ground-based telescope of the 20th century Approximately 4500 refereed publications to date EVLA is a new telescope for all astronomers for the 21st century electronic renewal of the VLA EVLA has begun coming on line Wider tuning capabilities for 10 antennas: 1.2-2 GHz, 4.2-7.7 GHz, 18.0-26.5 GHz Fundamental purpose of SAGE is to advise NRAO on optimizing the scientific impact of the EVLA SAGE meeting, May 22-23, 2007

Committee Charge Advise on science priorities First scientific user observing modes First science programs (e.g. first images, surveys, key targets, etc.) Prioritize descopes (presently not thought necessary) Participate in development and testing of user capabilities Provide conduit between NRAO and North American science community “Marketing” of dramatic new scientific capabilities Emphasize next 18 months EVLA Science Workshop planning for the first science after arrival of the WIDAR correlator SAGE meeting, May 22-23, 2007
