P ROBLEM S OLVING WITH 6C Probability and strategy.

We played a game, which used dice, a board and counters.

The object of the game was to be able to get three counters in a row; either diagonally, horizontally or vertically. At the same time, you need to be blocking your opponents chances of making a row of three. How to play: Roll two dice and make a note of the numbers you get. You can choose to add or take away the numbers, in any order you choose. If the total of your chosen sum is free you can put a counter on that number on the board. If the number is covered you need to put the counter where you can. If there are no numbers available you have to miss a go.

Here are some of us playing the game. HOWEVER: We werent just playing a game. We were also investigating the chances and strategies needed to win.

W E FOUND OUT THE FOLLOWING THINGS To be able to win the game you need to try to put a 6 or a 7 on the board, this is because they are in the middle and you can go in any direction from them. The hardest numbers to get are 11 and 12. This is because there are only two ways to make the numbers. Some people thought that 1 was the easiest number to make, you have 5 different combinations to do it. However some people thought 0 was because you can make it 6 different ways.
