Why is reading so important?

Reading for pleasure “When teenagers read for pleasure, when they get “hooked on books”, they acquire, involuntarily and without conscious effort, nearly all of the “language skills” we need to use to communicate in daily life.”

Reading helps you to... Improve your general knowledge Gain a better understanding of other cultures Know you’re not alone Develop a greater insight into how people think and feel Make progress in all your communication skills

...and it’s also a great way to keep you entertained!
