Chapter 4 Cell Activities

Chapter 4A Order Among Cells

I. Order Among Cells Multicellular organisms have different kinds of cells which perform a variety of functions. Each cell is unable to survive on its own.

I. Order Among Cells Unicellular organisms can survive by themselves. Each cell has the ability to perform ALL functions necessary for life.

I. Order Among Cells Colonial organisms have many cells that usually live together but are able to live independently. Each cell has the ability to perform ALL functions necessary for life.

A. Levels of Cellular Organization I. Order Among Cells A. Levels of Cellular Organization

A. Levels of Cellular Organization 1. Tissue

Tissue A group of similar cells that works together to perform a particular function

A. Levels of Cellular Organization Tissue Organ

Organ A group of tissues that works together to accomplish a particular function

A. Levels of Cellular Organization Tissue Organ Organ System

Organ System A group of organs that work together to perform a life function

A. Levels of Cellular Organization

A. Levels of Cellular Organization

B. Division of Labor Each tissue and each organ performs its special function to keep the whole organism alive. Each tissue and organ depends on the others in the organism This is also true of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12)
