What is HEe? HEe is part of the Economics Network of the Higher Education Academy Aims: To encourage and support teaching and learning in health economics in UK universities. To create a community of health economics teachers willing to share ideas, resources and expertise in health economics teaching. To promote health economics to potential students.

HEe: progress during the last 4 months Website of teaching and learning resources www.economicsnetwork.ac.uk/health/ Individual contacts used to build a network of academics interested in supporting and promoting health economics teaching Sources of funding identified for planned projects, and views about what resources and support would be most helpful/effective.

HEe: planned developments 2008/9 Establish a formal Advisory Group Formal links with iHEA & HESG HEA project funding applications to support An audio-visual resource (e.g. a series of short interviews with leading health economists about their work) Development of algebraic problem sets for UGs Strategies to promote health economics in the UG curriculum Special issue of IREE (proposal being drafted) Develop materials/resources for ‘why study health economics’ (aimed at potential students)
