Not just comics anymore Graphic Novels Not just comics anymore

GRAPHIC NOVEL On a post-it, write down the first word you think of when you hear “graphic novel.” On a second post-it, write down a question you have about graphic novels. On a third post-it, write down obstacles you face with graphic novels.

Speed Dating (with a book) At each table/group, you will find a set of graphic novels. We will speed date with the books. 30 seconds: look through the book taking in interesting cover, if the books reads front to back, etc. (First Impressions) 2 minutes: read. Silently. No talking, no notes. Just read (The Date) 1 minute: Decide if you want a “Second Date” with that book. If so, write down the title and author on your bookmark.
