Wilson’s and Sullivan’s Scoop August 15 - 19 What I’m Learning: This week our mentor text is Two Bobbies. In Reading, we are rereading to gain more details, making text-to-self connections, and inferencing. In grammar, we are exploring nouns and verbs. In writing, we are building our writing community. In math, we are reviewing addition and subtraction to a thousand. Vocabulary words and definitions: bustle – rush or hurry in an excited, noisy, or busy way volunteer – offer to do something or help someone by choice debris – scattered pieces of something that has been thrown away, broken, or destroyed devastate – destroy or badly damage ruckus – noisy confusion or excitement lounge – sit or lie in a lazy or relaxed way Date: ______ Teacher News: Snacks will go on sale August 15th. Parents, We have snack at 10:00. Please make sure your child has a snack or purchases one. All snacks are 50 cents each. Sullivan’s homeroom has P.E. on Thursday Wilson’s homeroom has P.E. on Wednesday. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes.
