9/18/2018 Basic Assumptions . . . The ultimate purpose for the church is to glorify God. Once a person is redeemed, his/her mission is to join Christ “on mission” to fulfill the Great Commission at any cost. Therefore, the purpose of what we do in the church is to lead congregants to glorify God by ultimately joining Him “on mission” as willing multipliers (true disciple makers) of the gospel through boldly sharing Christ.

Why Servant Evangelism?
How to Begin Servant Evangelism Personally/Individually Individually before corporately: “Unless it first becomes a lifestyle that is practiced by the individuals in your church, it will certainly not take hold in a corporate setting.”
1. Learn to Identify Needs Walk with your eyes, heart, and ears wide open. Intentionally Identify problems that the church can meet. Jesus’ main concern was meeting the needs of others not his own.
2. Go Where Needs Are Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! . . . Get the Point! As Christians, we need to be willing to step out of our comfort zones and interact with cultures that might not be the same as ours. Example: the woman at the well. Regardless of your fears or the risks, be courageous and go where the needs are most apparent – start where you LIVE!!!
3. Initiate a Plan Develop a life that is characterized by evangelism/Real Discipleship. We must initiate a plan to help meet that need. This is where Servant Evangelism comes in! This step centers on doing intentional acts of kindness for other people, meeting their real needs, simply because they are loved by God and made in His image.
4. Be Willing to Stay In John 4, after Jesus had ministered to the people from Sychar, He stayed with them for two days. We need to be willing to forge relationships with people in our spheres of influence. They need to know that they are deeply loved by us and by god! Ultimately they need to see and hear the truth of the gospel!
