What we are going to talk about… Balancing all of these: Self Spouse Children/Family Work Travel Volunteering Networking/Friends And, anything else you have going on in your life!

Background … Wife of 37 years Mother of four Three sons in their 30’s and a 21-year old daughter Three grandchildren Working full time since I graduated from college Salaried positions with flexibility Six years as a transportation engineer Two years as a transportation planner Twenty years at Sioux Valley Energy – five promotions Ten years as CEO at People’s Energy Cooperative

My Qualifications …  Not a professional speaker Not a professional trainer Never made a presentation like this before I don’t have all the answers, but… I do have a lot of experience!  I am going to share what worked for me.

Tips to balance your life … for success at home and at work TEAM GOUND RULES Listen, listen, listen. Attack ideas, not people. Be honest with each other. Encourage all to participate. Say what you mean (Get to the point); mean what you say (Commitment). Support and implement team decisions. Solve problems by using the Team Ground Rules. At work and at home.

Tips to balance your life … for success at home and at work Be there! Be where you are. When you are at work --- be there! When you are at home --- be there! Communicate --- with your spouse, children and yours boss. Adjust and adopt your goals as you need to … as your life changes. (Luke)
