Trade Trade increased in Europe as a result of the Crusades

Wealth More money came into port cities in Europe because of trade (especially Italy)

Corruption New wealth and money led to corruption of the church and secularization – a focus on the non-religious world

Secularization More people became interested in banking, trade, wealth, education…. Less focus on the church and faith

Humanism Renaissance – a rebirth of Greco-Roman culture Focus on humans: emotions, the body, intellect… human achievements

The Arts New wealth allowed arts and inventions to flourish =

The Renaissance Man People began to explore many fields… the Renaissance Man is a person who is skilled in many fields (language, art, sports…)
