Plot Summary (Section 1) The story begins with a boy named Christopher Boone who finds a dead dog and gets in trouble with the police because he doesn’t like many things that normal people wouldn’t mind of: like when the cops grabbed him, he punched him. His father gets him out of the station, but he still isn’t satisfied because he wants to find the one who killed Wellington (the dog) which becomes his biggest mission. He does his detective but hides the fact from his father since his father wants him to stay away of that story. He has no one else who can support him since his mother had died of cancer and he doesn’t like strangers.

Plot Summary (Section 2) After many investigations, he has no evidence or witness or any suspect besides Mr. Shears who he really doesn’t have a valid argument to mark him as a suspect. During the investigation, he also writes a book and when his father finds out, they get into a serious argument and the uncompleted book of Christopher is confiscated. When Christopher tries to find his book from his father’s room, he finds numerous letters written from his mother after the supposedly her death.

Plot Summary (Section 3) Christopher is curious about his father lying to him and finds out that his mother is not dead but ran away with Roger Shears (Mr. Shears), but for everyone’s good. He knows that his mother still loves him. Sooner, he finds out that his father is the one who killed Wellington. Christopher decides to run away.

Plot Summary (section 4) After a long and terrifying journey, he gets to London, to his mother’s house. Mr. Shears isn’t happy and is not ready to accept Christopher. One night, Mr. Shears gets drunk and almost harm Christopher which causes Christopher’s mother to run away back to Swindon. Christopher is happy because he gets to do his level A math.

Plot Summary (Section 5) Christopher’s father apologizes and tells him that he will change for good and never lie ever again and it still doesn’t satisfies Christopher. His father does not give up and tries more which starts to get Christopher back with his father. The ending of the story lets us know that time heals many things and with time, Christopher will get back with his father or maybe with time his mother might get back with them as well since she left Roger.
