Polygon Project Review

Properties to remember about slope… Parallel lines have equal slope Perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes What does a line with no slope look like? The slope in fraction form is This means the rise is and the run is The line is a line

Properties to remember about slope… What does a line with zero slope look like? The slope in fraction form is This means the rise is and the run is The line is a line Are horizontal and vertical lines perpendicular? Can a triangle have two equal slopes? Do the slopes tell you anything about the length/size of the sides?

Notes on the lengths of the sides… The lengths of the sides do not tell you whether the shape is a triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon… The lengths also do not tell you anything about whether there are right angles or not.

Properties to remember about triangles… All 3 sides have the same length? 2 sides have the same length? No sides have the same length? Can you have a concave triangle? So all triangles must be All angles less than 90? One 90 angle? All angles greater than 90? Can a triangle be right and acute? Acute and obtuse? Right and obtuse?

Properties to remember about quads… Main characteristic of a trapezoid? Is a rectangle a parallelogram? Any other classifications? Is a square a parallelogram? A rhombus? A rectangle? A trapezoid? Is a rhombus a square?

Properties to remember about all polygons… What makes a shape convex? What makes a shape concave? Can a shape be both? What makes a shape “regular”? Is a rhombus regular?

Formulas to remember… Distance Formula: Slope Formula:
