Presentation transcript:

A point Is an exact position.

A line Is a set of points that is endless in two directions.

A line segment A line segment is a part of a line with two endpoints.

Intersecting lines Líneas intersecantes Intersecting lines cross at one point.

Parallel lines Lineas o rectas paralelas Parallel lines never cross.

A ray A ray is a part of a line with one endpoint.

An angle An angle is two rays with the same endpoint. That endpoint is the vertex of the angle.

Right angle and perpendicular ángulo recto y linea perpendicular A right angle makes a square corner. If two lines, lines segments, or rays make a right angle, they are perpendicular. A right angle has a measurement of exactly 90 degrees angle.

Acute angle ángulo agudo An acute angle is an angle that is open less than a right angle. Has a measurement that is greater than 0 degrees and less than 90 degrees.

Obtuse angle ángulo obtuso An obtuse angle is an angle that is open more than a right angle. It has a measurement that is greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.

Polygons Polígonos A polygon is a closed figure made up of line segments. Each line segment is a side of the polygon. The point where two side meet is a vertex of the polygon.

More on Polygons Polygons are name by the number of sides they have. The sides form an angle at each vertex.
