Business Strategies I named my business Main Street Jamaican because my restaurant will be located on main street and this will make it easy for customers to remember I picked a location that has a college campus with many international students, many visiting families and no other Jamaican Restaurants within 100 miles. I plan to advertise in various places around town and online. My domain name is the same as my business name to make it easy for customers to find my site. I will also buy other domain names that are like mine to avoid customers going to another site and losing business. Domain name: www.mainstreetjamaican.com -There are a lot of international students here, a majority of them are from somewhere in the Caribbean so it would be beneficial to have some food from their home here to ease the transition and help with the culture shock they may experience. -I plan to advertise on social media sites and at highly traveled places in town such as Irving, Gas and GO, NMMC, various hair salons and the University.

Cost vs Benefit analysis I plan to take out a personal loan to cover all startup costs that I have calculated to be $8,500. Monthly costs total to an estimated $2,004 total monthly revenue totals to an estimated $4,350. I calculated total startup costs by simply adding all costs that I would have to start the business. I calculated my total costs by adding up all costs that were not related to start up costs together I calculated my total revenue by estimating meals at a value of 5.00 each multiplying that by an estimated 25 customers per day multiplied by 30 days in a month. I also added a monetary value to customer service of 400.00 and a value of 200.00 to low food production time because my chef’s will be skilled in cooking Jamaican food already. I estimated the 5.00 per meal at the lower end of pricing for meals

Location Located right on Main Street in Fort Kent. Easy to find, Easy to remember Walking distance from the university The location of my restaurant is right in town, just a short walk from the University! The only other Jamaican Restaurants in Maine are located in Bangor and Portland.

Jamaican atmosphere Enjoy the Jamaican music Take in the smell of the Jamaican food You will never be bored ! I would love to introduce the Jamaican culture to Fort Kent through food and a nice tropical atmosphere. In the winter I feel it would be nice for people to get away from the cold and come enjoy a carribbean meal and a carribbean atmosphere to forget about the snow.

Easy to navigate website and app Customers wont spend hours trying to search my website Everything is organized for customer convenience On my webpage there will be no hassle trying to find menus, store hours, phone numbers or any restaurant information that is needed. I will provide customers with a picture of the menu and there will be tabs that are organized and clearly labeled. -I plan to use Godaddy.com to build and host my website but I will maintain control of updating information like weekly specials. -I also plan to have a suggestions and review page within my website so that people feel they have a voice in the service they receive at my place of business and so I can improve if needed.

Secure check out Hassle-free Quick pick up In the online website and mobile app customers will be able to order their food through a secure checkout that will be through my bank. I chose to go through my bank because they are more secure and the fees and percentage rates are low. I will take all security precautions that are recommended to protect my business and my customers information. Customers will be able to choose what foods or main dish they would like and when the sale is final the order will come into my business and the food will be made and be available to the customer upon pick up or they can have it delivered if they chose to.

Delivery Service Delivery to the fort Kent area Delivery fee of only 2.00! I will provide an option for customers to have their food delivered to them through the online website and the mobile app. There will only be a 2.00 service charge for delivery to help pay for the gas used. Delivery will be timely and convenient for customers.
