IB Diploma Programme at Coppell High School Candidates work toward internationally recognized IB Diploma in addition to Texas state high school diploma. Two-year program (11th & 12th only). Courses emphasize inquiry-based approaches to problem solving, research and multi-faceted communication skills, and international mindedness. Instructional approaches demand development of personal characteristics in the IB Learner Profile (that they be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, & reflective). Candidates complete 6 subject area courses PLUS a Theory of Knowledge program, a 4000 wd. Extended Essay, and Creativity-Action-Service (CAS) activities College credit may be granted by exam score, or in a block if the IB Diploma is earned (24-27 hrs. mandated at Texas state universities).
