Body Systems

Skeletal System Protects vital organs Gives our shape Allow us to move

Circulatory System Carries oxygen and nutrients to the cells Waste materials are carried away Carries hormones and antibodies

Muscular System Allow us to move Made up of tissues that expand and contract Attaches to bones by tendons

Nervous System Allows the brain to communicate with every part of the body Allows us to see, hear, smell, taste and touch

Respiratory System Takes in oxygen Releases waste gasses from our bodies

Immune System Defends against illness and disease

Digestive System Converts food into energy Packages and transports wastes

Reproductive System  Produce egg and sperm cells through the process of meiosis Produces hormones Nurtures developing offspring

Endocrine System Collection of glands that release hormones into the body Regulates metabolism, growth and development, sexual function, sleep and mood

Integumentary System Largest organ in the body Includes the skin which protects the body, prevents water loss, regulates body temperature, and senses the external environment

Excretory System/Urinary System Removal of metabolic waste from the body Assists in maintaining homeostasis
