Azure Information Protection User Initiated Content Classification Azure Information Protection allows organizations to classify, label, and protect data at the time of creation or modification. With Azure Information Protection, users can: Classify data based on sensitivity and add labels—manually or automatically. Encrypt sensitive data and define usage rights when needed. Apply protection easily without interrupting their normal course of work. The organization also has access to detailed tracking and reporting to see what’s happening with the shared data to gain more control over it. With Azure Information Protection, Garth can choose to label a document himself with a classification. This enables him to apply visual markings and control who has access to content through Rights Management templates and permissions. CLICK STEP(S). Click anywhere on the slide to begin

[On the gray Information Protection bar, point to, but do not click the classification label, Sensitivity: Not Set.] The Information Protection bar shows the sensitivity is not currently set. Anyone can open this document and see the contents. CLICK STEP(S) On the Information Protection bar, click Secret.

[Point to, but do not click, Secret sub-labels.] Garth can set the sensitivity to everyone in his company or just to a particular group of employees to restrict who can see the document. He selects Finance Only so only appropriate colleagues can see the data. CLICK STEP(S) Click Finance Only

CLICK STEP(S) On the right, click on the scroll bar to scroll down.

[On the gray Information Protection bar, point to, but do not click the classification label, Sensitivity: Secret-Finance Only.] [On the document background, point to, but do not click, the watermark, Secret.] This adds the Secret watermark… CLICK STEP(S) On the right, click on the scroll bar to scroll down.

[In the document footer, point to, but do not click, the classification label, Sensitivity: Secret.] …and a sensitivity footer. CLICK STEP(S) In upper left, click File.

[Point to, but do not click, Protect Document.] He can also see the document is protected by a Rights Management template, so this document is encrypted and those without permission to see the document cannot view it. Classification and protection information travels with the data. This ensures that data is protected at all times, regardless of where it is stored, with whom it is shared, or if the device is running iOS, Android or Windows.
