What is Coaching Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail Practical Action Take Aways

Coaching is about Awareness: finding a new awareness of how your behaviour may be sabotaging what you actually want Performance: looking at where you are now and where you want to be Transformation: taking control of your life, finding your focus and transforming your goals into reality

Which aspect of my life isnt working for me? Which aspect of my life is good but I want it to be great? Qualities – how would a person who has what I want behave? What qualities do they possess? Commit to nurturing these qualities every day Habits are formed in 21 days

To do work that is of value to others, that I do well and that makes me feel good about myself To do work that provides me with a great income To do work that allows me to be present with my family Curiosity, on-going learning, non-judgemental Creativity Discipline

Excuses (justified or otherwise, and what excuse isnt justified?!) The voice in your head The Blame Game Long standing beliefs

There is always another option You are responsible for your choices! You also get the joy and energy that comes with making the choice that is right for you.

If people only knew how hard I work to gain my mastery, it wouldnt seem so wonderful at all (Michelangelo, , Artist)

What specific goal can you set that will move you toward your vision? By when do you want to achieve this goal? What skills do you have that will support you in reaching this goal? What skills will you need to develop to reach this goal? What kind of time commitment will be required to achieve this goal? How will you schedule this into your calendar? Is there anything that you need to let go of or manage in a new way in order to have the time available to reach this goal? Who will hold you accountable for doing what you say you will do? What are the consequences of not following your plan? What reward can you give to yourself for following your plan and achieving your goal (Make it fun!)

Talk doesn't cook rice ~Chinese Proverb Well done is better than well said ~Benjamin Franklin In any situation, the best thing you can do is the right thing; the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing ~ Theodore Roosevelt

Integrity Somebody once said that in looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy. And if you dont have the first, the other two will kill you. You think about it; its true. If you hire somebody without integrity, you really want them to be dumb and lazy. ~ Warren Buffett Who are you doing this for?

Articulate your vision Spring clean – identify self sabotaging behaviours Your choices are your responsibility Goals – NO BOX TICKING Action, Action, Action – Keep Going Discipline & Integrity

We are not imprisoned by our circumstances, our setbacks, our history, our mistakes, or even staggering defeats along the way. We are freed by our choices ~ Jim Collins, Good to Great
