Growth and change throughout lifecycle (PS3.K1) 1.03 Integrate personal growth and change into your career development.

Four Stages of Personal growth Physical Growth Emotional Growth Social Growth Intellectual Growth 1 (PS3.K1) Stages of Adolescent Development Activity. Students need a sheet of paper, they should divide the paper into 4 columns. Label the columns, Intellectual Change, Emotional Change, Physical Change, & Social Change. Have students list how they have changed in those areas in the last two years. Explain that as adolescents, they change a great deal in many areas of their lives. 9/18/2018 1.03 Growth & change

Physical Growth - Intellectual Growth Physical development means growing in height, weight and body proportions. The human brain is not fully developed until late adolescence or in the case of males sometimes early adulthood. We often expect children to think like adults when they are not yet capable of doing so.

Emotional Growth – Social Growth A child will have a strong foundation for later development if he or she can manage personal feelings, understand others' feelings and needs, and interact positively with others. Differences in social and emotional development result from a child's inborn temperament, cultural influences, disabilities, behaviors modeled by adults, the level of security felt in a child's relationships with adults, and the opportunities provided for social interaction.
