Requirements Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) – Part B, Section 4201 Non-Regulatory Guidances – Section G – Local Use of Funds Purpose of Grant Expenses Expenses are for purposes of approved grant application funds on the CCIP budget and budget narrative.

Purpose of Grant Expenses Expenses must be used toward academic, youth development and parent and family engagement enrichment initiatives for after school program.

Expenditures $ Must be: -Reasonable -Allowable -Necessary

Expenditures $ Use common sense when making expenditure decisions

Allowable Use of Funds Transportation costs Curriculum materials Supplies, including computers/printers, pertaining to academic enrichment Staff salary and benefits

Allowable Expenditures Student incentives Program evaluation

Allowable Expenditures Youth development contractors Rent (reasonable and necessary/for afterschool activities only)

Unallowable Expenditures Examples include: Food (of any kind) for program needs Grant Writer Vehicle Purchase Building Purchase or major Repairs/Renovations

Program Budget Review approved CCIP budget narrative Review most recent approved CCIP budget

Program Budget Justification needed for all budget revisions in excess of 10% in an Object Code Governance/Administrative – Up to 15% of award

Reporting Financial Detailed Report by Object Code (FINDET) Budget Ledger (BUDLED) Report of all Year-end expenditures and Fund 599 USAS Coded Accounting Records
