4th Workshop – Belgrade, 12 th April 2011 – Quality Standards in ICT Education Telecentre and Social Organizations Academy It offers the chance to be professionally trained, as well as to share/exchange knowledge and experiences The aim is strengthening e-facilitators, ICT educators and social organizations leaders capacities and skills, answering to their needs of initial and long-learning training. Methodologies, competences, strategies to develop: better and more efficient motivation for citizens ICT empowerment. With this virtual academy we want to share training opportunities, resources and projects that we have been designing and developing in Fundación ESPLAI since more than 10 years ago in a collaborative way.

Organization and implementation of a Telecentre Resources for those who run a telecentre. It is about strengthening the telecentre as a participative space for the community, using ICT as working tools. 2. Planning a digital literacy workshop Methodological course to guide in the first steps of an educational workshop about digital literacy 3. Telecentre support resources Basic guidelines for preparing manuals, schedules, posters and to set the most appropriate media and formats. Helpful resources to every day work in the telecentre 4. Training about concrete tools Preparing to work different tools, software… with the final user (starting with Windows, Office, OpenOffice, Ubuntu Linux… 5. Safe Internet (under construction)

Teaching ICT to children Resources to work at the telecentre with children aged 3 to 12, on the basis that ICT are not an end but a means to achieve an integral education to the children. It is about educating them on a healthy and proper use of technology. 2. Teaching ICT to teenagers Resources to work at the telecentre with young people aged 12 to 18 This course seeks to provide insights into the crisis of adolescence as a stage-growth, performance limits, the risks of Internet, entertainment 3. Teaching ICT to immigrants Provide resources to work the values of multiculturalism in the telecentre and promote the integration of immigrants in the dynamics of participation, with ICT as the main tool. 4. Teaching ICT to elderly Promote learning at any age. ICT improve self-esteem, establish new ways of communication, allow people to be more autonomous and to get to online (public) services. It is about suturing the digital gap in this group 5. Teaching ICT to people with disabilities What ICT can offer to disabled people, improving their social integration and autonomy, reflecting about our attitudes towards people with functional diversity

4th Workshop – Belgrade, 12 th April 2011 – Quality Standards in ICT Education Training courses offer: Specific subjects 1. The telecentre in a rural context Telematic efforts, telecommuting, distance learning, specific applications for rural areas... and also to foster a space for collective reflection on the role of telecentres in the rural world and how to promote these initiatives.. 2. Gender This is a course in methodology which works to mainstream gender in the centre, defining by gender the way of seeing the world from the equality between women and men. 3. Blog as a tool for telecentre development Pedagogical possibilities of using the blog as an educational, participation, respect and social inclusion tool in the Telecentre and its surroundings. 4. Volunteering in the telecentre Reflecting about the importance of volunteers, as a necessary tool for social transformation and participation in community life and why telecentres are an ideal place to incorporate them. 5. Values and education in the telecentre approaching the two key concepts: education and values the crisis of values poses new challenges to be addressed by education, whether formal and informal.

4th Workshop – Belgrade, 12 th April 2011 – Quality Standards in ICT Education The telecentre academy participates in the project that Telecentre.org promotes worldwide. This project join all the actions and initiatives from thousands of telecentre all over the world. Collaborations and scalability Fundación ESPLAI has scaled this idea of the telecentre to some Latin- American countries like Colombia, where it is running very successfully.
