Decorations People make decorations at Christmas. Families put up a Christmas tree at home. They decorate their homes and Christmas trees with beautiful lights, bells and candles. They also put up lights, sleighs and snowmen outside their houses.

Christmas cards and gifts People exchange Christmas cards on Christmas Days . They write "Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" to greet each other. Christmas is a time for friends and family members to exchange gifts. Children are very happy because they can get Christmas gifts. People place gifts under the tree before Christmas Day and open them on Boxing Day on 26th December.

Christmas songs Usually, groups of carolers walk from house to house singing Christmas songs. Christmas carols are also sung in shopping centres and schools.

Christmas Party People like to have a Christmas Party. They can eat some special food and play funny games. For Christmas dinner, people like eating turkey most. They also eat potatoes and cranberry sauce. For dessert they can have pumpkin pie, fruitcake and pudding.
