Introduction The main goal for this semester is to provide the formula sae club with a functional aerodynamic package. The four main parts: Front wing, Nose cone, Diffuser, Side Pods, and Rear wing. Designs are being closed to finalized and are ready to be 3D printed After 3D printing, small scale testing will be utilized to compare our CFD results with results from the wind tunnel testing. Touch up our designs based on the results the team got from wind tunnel testing.

Front Wing Optimized based on research of scholarly articles and books, listed later in sources slide Completed full design analysis utilizing Xflyr and Solidworks with a wide range of Reynolds Numbers Each design aspect has a technical justification Specifications: Airfoil: Eppler 420 Main Element: Chord: 17in AOA: 7 Degrees Flap Element: Chord: 8in AOA: 30 Degrees Gap: 0.95in Overlap: 1.3in Width: 57in (outside to outside tires) Endplates: As large as possible while conforming to rules

Nose Cone Designed primarily to cover the front portion of the frame with the impact attenuator attached Solidworks CFD shows a decrease in average drag and lift from the old design to the current one at 30 mph Location of the front tires and/or frame changes could affect the design of the nose

Undertray/Diffuser Made some minor adjustments from the last iteration and downforce has increased Design creates low pressure vortices at the exit Design should not obstruct the engine, wheels, or frame

Rear Wing Two Eppler 420 airfoils Chord length 14 and 5 One Eppler 420 airfoil Chord length 20 One Eppler 423 airfoil Chord length 20

Rear Wing Eppler 420 Eppler 423

Side Pods No longer need to be made since radiator size is still not finalized by the club. Instead the design and creation of the side pods will be up to the cooling and oiling team from the Formula Club. The sidepod sub group will now be repurposed to the aid in the testing and fabrication of our scale model design.

Gantt Chart Discuss actions from now until the final showcase Wait for chelsea to upload the new gantt chart before posting to website.
