K – W – L Chart What I Know What I Want to Know What I Learned Topic: chocolate What I Know What I Want to Know What I Learned Chocolate is used for candy, cake and in drinks. Where does chocolate come from? Chocolate comes from cacao beans.

The Red Planet Nine planets circle the sun in our solar system. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. It is a neighbor to planet Earth, which is the third planet from the sun. Mars looks red to those who view it from Earth. Because of its color, the ancient Romans named this planet after their god of war, Mars.

The Red Planet Although Mars may look “hot” with fire, it is really very cold. The average temperature on Mars is nineteen degrees below zero! Although Mars is millions of miles from Earth, we can sometimes see it at night. When Mars is closest to Earth, it appears very bright in the night sky. Only our moon and the planet Venus look brighter.
