Background The Kentucky Medical Services Foundation, Inc. (KMSF) was founded in 1978 with two primary missions that have guided its activities and focus for more than 35 years: To bolster efforts to recruit and retain the best clinicians to ensure the provision of high-quality health care for the region and the Commonwealth To serve as a charitable organization to support the education, research, service and patient care missions of the University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare®. 2

Structure, Governance, and Leadership 501(c)(3) corporation, separate from UK, but is a support organization for UK. Charitable purpose is to further missions of the University of Kentucky Dr. Marc Randall was elected by the KMSF Board on March 18, 2016 Executive Director is Carrie Cassis Board composed of all clinical chairs or their designee plus elected members; 4 from designated “Practice Areas”, 1 elected community member, and 2 “at large” 4

Structure, Governance, and Leadership Executive Committee: Elected Officers, 2 additional elected members, plus 3 appointed members Other Committees include Finance & Audit, Contracting, & IT Governance Approximately 200 employees, about 2/3 revenue cycle 5

KMSF Website KMSF.com makes it easier for eligible clinical facility to find information and benefits important to them 8

Coding & Documentation Education KMSF Coding & Documentation Education Monitor and train accuracy of coding efforts, including documentation compliance, e.g. copy and paste issues Educate UK coding staff, physicians, etc. Help with addressing over-payments Offer CPC classes to UKHC and KMSF staff 9

Real Estate Management Office of Facilities and Properties Owned Properties: Alumni/Sterlington Plaza, Ky Clinic South, Leader Building Leased Properties: Turfland, PAC Building (GSH campus), Fountain Court, and KMSF holds leases for Outreach clinics Employs a Maintenance Staff responsible for routine maintenance (including parking lots, etc.) renovations, etc. 10
