Writing an argumentative piece Argumentative pieces are similar to writing a persuasive essay in which you want to try and persuade your audience. However, there are many aspects that make it different as well.

Writing an argumentative piece First, you must know which side of the issue you stand on, and be firm in your stance. Do the research! Use strong facts and sources to back up your stance. Use clear language and good writing techniques to build your piece.

Writing an argumentative piece From using facts, data, and sources while writing an argument paper, one is using Ethos. Ethos: Credibility – The help of creditable sources to back up your argument.

Writing an argumentative piece Another approach that becomes helpful while writing an Argumentative piece is being able to develop an emotional connection to the side in which you’re trying to argue. This method would be considered a type of Pathos. Pathos: Emotional – using ones own emotions, and connections with their argument in order to persuade the audience.

Writing an argumentative piece While writing an argument paper, you want to have deep understanding, and knowledge on the topic you’re arguing. This would be considered Logos. Logos: Being able to persuade an audience from the knowledge, and logic on the topic in which one will arguie.

One will want to take their argument and the counter argument, display both of them in the piece, and use facts, and data to support both sides but still prove/disprove what one believes with the evidence they inquire.

At Ohio State University, vivisector George Billman forced surgically manipulated dogs to run on a treadmill until they collapsed from a heart attack. The dogs were killed, and the damage to their heart tissue was studied. In a violent experiment at the University of Pennsylvania, puppies were bred to have a degenerative eye disease that culminates in blindness.
