Guess, Check, and Revise There are 58 passengers on an airline flight to Orlando. Passengers with first-class tickets paid $808 for their seats. Passengers with coach tickets paid $208 for their seats. The total amount of tickets paid for this flight was $15,664. How many tickets of each type were sold? Understand There are 58 passengers on the airline. The first-class tickets cost $808 and the coach tickets cost $208. Plan Make a guess and check to see if it is correct. If it is not, then revise. Answer: So, 6 first-class tickets and 52 coach tickets were sold. Guess, Check, and Revise Solve Find the combination that gives a total of $15,664. In the list, f is the number of first-class tickets and c is the number of coach tickets sold. Answer: So, 6 first-class tickets and 52 coach tickets were sold.
