Reconsider Purpose: Further consideration of previously voted upon item of business. Made the same day (or next calendar day if in session) Can be made, but not considered at that time. Person moving must be on prevailing side

Reconsider Salient Pts. Y,N,Y*,M (N if motion not debatable) “I move to reconsider the vote on the motion that… I was on the prevailing side.” “I call up the motion to reconsider…”

To Rescind Purpose: To repeal action previously taken Used to annul or amend adopted item Cannot be done if some/all action has already been taken. Salient Pts. Y,Y,Y,M (with notice) 2/3 (without notice) “I move to rescind the motion to…” or “I move to amend the previously adopted motion to…”

Ratify Purpose: Approve previous action taken (typically when a quorum is not present) Can approve or disapprove actions taken (ratify or censure). Salient Pts. Y,Y,Y,M “I move to ratify the action taken by…”
