What is missing in Mobile IPv6? Mobile IP plays a minor role in “modern” 3GPP; why? 3GPP has long depended on protocol elements not provided by Mobile IP, especially GTP Other design choices “inferred” by LTE architecture 3GPP unwilling to bring their needs into the IETF? Using Mobile IP “could” have resulted in a much simpler specification for LTE Hypothesis: 4G networking will continue to evolve [mext] should be ready with a good evolutionary path © 2009 Wichorus Inc.
