SmartArt The SmartArt Tool allows for a graphical presentation of thoughts and ideas (in contrast to a CHART that displays numerical data). You could use the SHAPES Drawing Tools, but SmartArt allows for rapid design (STYLE) changes and easier editing of Text with Dialog Panes. You can: add, delete, and modify parts of an existing shape (Ie: a pyramid with 3 levels and be increased or decreased. Borders, Fill Color, Outlines, Text etc.) I have not found an easy way to Save custom SmartArt to a Library! The [SmartArt Tools] Tab becomes active when you select an Object, and then you have two added Tabs: DESIGN and FORMAT to change individual components of the object. PowerPoint allows you to Convert Text to SmartArt, (but WORD does not!) Other Formatting Tools used in WordArt and Pictures such as 3D, Shadow, etc. can be seen in the Live Preview Mode. 9/19/2018

Picture Formatting PowerPoint 2010 has added some enhanced Photo Editing options for immediate picture transformations. While there are times you still might want to edit a picture using PAINT, or other graphic manipulation software, the new tools will allow for some quick enhancements to images used in your Presentation. Microsoft has attempted to standardize options and interfaces across the Office Suite platform and the Ribbon toolbars. While the commonality of the features are not 100%, if you learn the interface in one MS Office tool, you will find the similar functionality in the other tools.. The [Picture Formatting Tools] Tab becomes active when you select a Picture Object. You may activate the options by clicking on the [TAB] or using a <Double Left Click> on the object. Inserting SHAPES Select the [INSERT] tab. Click the Shapes command. Click a shape from the menu. Move your cursor into the slide. It will appear as a cross-hair shape rather then the pointer. Left Click and hold down the mouse button, and drag the cursor until the shape is the desired size. Release the mouse button to insert the shape. Experiment holding the <shift> or <Ctrl> keys while changing the size of the object. 9/19/2018

Photo Album PowerPoint added a feature to allow you to import multiple pictures from a directory. After selecting [INSERT] {Photo Album}, you are presented a File Dialog session to select the files to include. You can change the picture Order, Adjust color and rotate the pictures as needed There is also a Text –Dialog option to and you can convert the pictures to Black and White 9/19/2018
