Composite A garment that is a combination of tailored and draped.
Design Detail The various garment parts that distinguish styles. Necklines, collars, sleeves, bodice, lapels, hemlines, etc. A t-shirt is a garment type but the neckline changes the style of the garment (Crewneck, Henley, v-neck, etc.)
Draped Wrapped or hung on the body and usually held in place with pins, toggles, buttons, sash, or belt.
FAD A fashion with a sudden burst of popularity. Item with great appeal for a short period of time.

Design A very specific version or variation of a style, garment parts and elements combine to create a fashion style concept A t shirt is a style, the neckline changes the design of that style (crew neck, Henley, v neck, etc.)
Fashion The currently accepted style. A prevailing type of clothing that is favored by a large segment of the public

Fit Garment Type Ready to Wear The Right size or how tight or loose the clothing is on a person Garment Type A category of clothing. Dress, coat, suit, sweater, pants, etc. Ready to Wear Clothing mass produced in standard sizes and sold to customers without custom alterations.
Haute Couture (oat-koo-tour) A French term that literally means fine sewing. The finest clothing from fashion houses by major designers.
Silhouette The shape of a clothing style shown by its outer lines.
STYLE A characteristic or distinctive form of dress that exists independent of fashion (hippie, gothic, cowboy, etc) A particular shape or type of apparel item. The style of a garment is determined by the features that create it’s overall appearance. Specific design details create specific styles (princess style of dress)
Tailored Trend Wardrobe A garment made by cutting fabric pieces and then sewing them together to fit the body. Trend The general direction that fashion is moving. Wardrobe All the apparel a person owns including all garments and accessories.
