IECEE Factory Surveillance Service (FSS)

A worldwide service The IECEE Conformity Assessment System operates the CB (Certification Body) Scheme for international test certification of electrical products Complementary to the testing, FSS is offered as a worldwide service ensuring that the certified products are made according to applicable requirements and consistently in accordance with the design May be a self-standing service, or be supplementary to the CB Test Certificate/Report, or may be associated with the CB Full Certification Scheme (CB FCS) Worldwide demand for product certification is growing and consequently the need for a Factory Surveillance Service. This Service can entail an initial or periodical follow up visits to ensure compliance with IEC International Standards to which the products have been type tested. It is a fully self-standing test or can be associated with the CB Full Certification Scheme where surveillance of the production of a CB-FCS-certified product is obligatory.

Global demand for product certification is growing Manufacturers can save costs by avoiding/reducing multiple factory surveillance visits from different bodies The aim is one visit and one Factory Surveillance Report (FSR) accepted by all parties concerned Manufacturers often have to deal with multiple factory surveillance visits from different certification bodies for the same location and based on the same requirements. Significant costs can be saved if these visits can be merged to one visit accepted by the multiple certification bodies involved. The majority of National Certification Bodies within the IECEE CB Scheme will accept FSS reports for their own certification purposes.

It has a standardized format and can be seen on the IECEE website in the Operational Documents 4000 series.
