DID NOT ENSLAVE NATIVE AMERICANS. ENGLAND---- FRANCE----- NETHERLANDS------ DID NOT ENSLAVE NATIVE AMERICANS. BUT THEY DID TAKE PART IN THE SLAVE TRADE TO USE AFRICANS ON THEIR PLANTATIONS IN THE SOUTHERN AMERICAN COLONIES!!

“REDEMPTIONERS” ENGLAND AND FRANCE ALSO USED INDENTURED SERVANTS TO WORK ON PLANTATIONS! INDENTURED SERVANTS: Were people who agreed to work for FREE________ on a Plantation for a set number of years to pay for their passage and family to a colony. British indentured servants called themselves “ Redemptioners”_____________!

INDENTURED SERVANTS Other British Indentured Servants were actually convicted criminals who were sent to American Colonies to Pay their debt to society. Georgia was set up as a Penal or (Punishment) Colony by England Australia was set up as a Penal Colony by England as well.

Trading Post Colonies The FRENCH & DUTCH (Netherlands) set up TRADING POST Colonies in NORTH AMERICA. *Their Colonies were not BENIFICIAL (Good) for mining or farming. Their WEALTH was made through TRADE _______!

TRADING POST COLONIES The FRENCH developed good RELATIONS with Native Americans and created a PROFITABLE Fur Trading business with them.

THE FRENCH & INDIAN WAR GREAT BRITAIN wanted to take CONTROL of the FUR TRADE from France and take their COLONIAL LANDS! But, because the Native Americans and France had a good RELATIONSHIP the Native Americans fought with the French against Great Britain !

AS THE DEMAND FOR SLAVES INCREASED TRIBAL WARFARE IN AFRICA INCREASED! More Advanced Tribes began capturing other people from other tribes and selling or trading them in the ATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE!
