Location In Canada British Columbia is the most western province. British Columbia is Canada's 3rd largest province. British Columbia is one of Canada's western provinces.

Capital city The capital city of British Columbia is Victoria. Victoria is a island in Vancouver. The parliament buildings are lit with over 3300 light bulbs. Victoria is one of the largest city in Vancouver island.

Population British Columbia is home to northwest native people. Victoria is home to over 6500 aboriginal people. Many of British Columbia's people are from Britain, Western Europe, East and southeast Asia.

History The Fraser valley gold rush in 1856 brought a lot of people to British Columbia. British Columbia became a Canadian province in 1871.

Industry Scientists find new ways to make telephones lasers and computers. Tourism is an important industry to Victoria.
