Helpful information Fill and return all paper work by Friday, Aug. 11th. Personal earphones for computer lab School supplies: $20 donation Recess Snacks & water bottle Birthday treats: nut-free, 1-2 day courtesy notice Make sure to label all personal items PE days: Tues., Wed., Thurs. Accelerated Reading (AR) students read and take quizzes on books at their instructional level. I will send home an informational letter on the program very soon. Classroom contact list by Monday, August 14th.

Classroom management REWARDS: Verbal praises, high fives, pat on the back, fist bump Bucket filler notes Student of the trimester “Clip up” on the rainbow chart Tickets for Friday store (need help replenishing it) Happy notes home, emails, phone calls Special treats: stickers, playdoh, pencils, etc. CONSEQUENCES: Three strikes you’re out rule! Yellow-Verbal Warning *Two (2) yellow cards in the same week: loss of P.A.T (Preferred Activity Time) Orange-Loss of Recess (10 minutes): contact parents; loss of P.A.T Red-Parent/teacher conference **Serious or dangerous actions will require immediate consequences, such as, loss of recess, referral to the office, or suspension.

Behavior report Week ending August 11th Behavior zone for each day Please discuss behavior report with your child. Sign it and return it to school every Monday for a ticket. First couple of weeks, you might see a lot of warnings(yellow). This is to show students the expectations in my class.

HOMEWORK Homework: practices the concepts learned Weekly packets-Friday through the following Thursday Packets consists of spelling and reading comprehension, writing, occasional math pages Sight words-practice at home, tested at school Special projects will be assigned throughout the year (Heritage dolls, traditions, heroes) Daily reading at least 15 minutes Homework cover sheet needs be signed. Missing/incomplete homework-loss of P.A.T.

Day 2 - Write each of your spelling words in ABC order 3 times. Spelling: Complete the daily spelling assignments. A piece of lined paper has been provided to complete these activities. These need to be done in your BEST handwriting! Day 1 - Using your spelling list, number your spelling words in ABC order from 1 - 15. Day 2 - Write each of your spelling words in ABC order 3 times. Day 3 - Write a sentence for 10 of your spelling words. Check your writing for capital letters and punctuation. Circle each spelling word. Day 4 - Take a practice spelling test. Write any words you miss 3 times. Practice Test Score ______/15 Writing: Classroom book –Please include as many details until the story is done. Don’t forget to draw & color your pictures at the bottom of the page. Daily Reading Log (15-20 minutes) I have checked and gone over all of the assignments with my child to ensure completeness, correctness, and neatness. *Parent signature Date Name of Book/Books Minutes Read
