What is matter? Matter - anything that has mass and takes up space. Examples: Your desk, your bed, water in the ocean, the air in the classroom, YOU.

Groups of Elements Metals Malleable - easy to shape or form Conductors - electricity flows through metal wires Ductile - pulled into thin stands/ wires without breaking Nonmetals Dull Can’t be pounded or stretched out Brittle – break easily Don’t conduct electricity well Noble gases Colorless Odorless Some glow when electricity is added (Neon & Argon)
