Text to Self Does the text remind you of something in your life? What did you read that is similar to your life? What did you read that is different from your life?

Text to Self Sometimes I’m lonely like Harry. I am not an only child. I would like to do magic. I have friends like Ron and Hermione. I have never been on a train. I have been picked on by bullies like Draco Malfoy. I wear glasses like Harry.

Text to Text Does the story remind you of another book you’ve read? Does it remind you of another story you’ve read?

Text to Text At the beginning of the story, Harry is like Cinderella because he is treated unkindly. The magic reminds me of Eragon or Lord of the Rings. The characters remind me of Chronicles of Narnia. The train reminds me of the Polar Express.

Text to World What does the story remind me of in the real world? Is the story similar to things that happen in the real world? Is the story different from things that happen in the real world?

Text to World Good versus evil School Sports Families Pets Friendships Death
