Where and When was he born? He was born in Southeast Hardin County, Kentucky and on the date 12 February 1809.

How long ago did he rule? Abraham Lincoln served as president from March 4, 1861 until April 15, 1865, which would be four years, one month, and about 12 days.

What did they do that we remember them for? He is a great part of history because he helped a lot to free slaves in the United States. He also wrote a very important document called the Emancipation Proclamation which stated that slaves should be freed.

What did people at that time all of them think of Abraham Lincoln? Opinions about Lincoln as president varied widely. He was viewed as everything from warmonger, power-mad, and hateful all the way up to something near sainthood. He was extremely unpopular in the southern and border states; all of those states went to John Bell or Stephen Douglas in the election of 1860, and negative feelings toward Lincoln only increased after the election. He was quite popular in the Great Lakes region and won all of the northern states in the election. During the war, feelings toward Lincoln changed as events in the war developed. Until summer of 1863 (and the victories at Gettysburg and Vicksburg), most thought him ineffective, meddling, and foolish. By the fall of 1864, with a series of important advances in the war, his popularity again increased and he was re-elected. There were still many people throughout the north who despised Lincoln right up until his death.

Why is he still significant till today? Lincoln will always be remembered as one of top five presidents. He will also be known as an excellent president from his leadership skills, crisis management, political skills, and his wonderful personality. He was also the most active president in history and has helped America become a better place by ending slavery. Lincoln knew when he needed to ignore laws. For example, he started war without declaring it. He will always be remembered for his work towards preserving the Union, and the ending of slavery. He was the President to face the greatest crisis, and he was the President who has accomplished so much good for the country. Most of all, he will be known for enacting the Emancipation Proclamation on New Years Day and gaining all rights for African American's.

How did he changed the world? Because of Abraham Lincoln there are equality of all races, that all men are created equal "and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth"
