Since all individuals have a varying degree of what behaviors are offensive, it is the responsibility of the victim to define which behaviors are offensive. * Victims Role- Let the harasser know in an assertive way that the behavior is unacceptable.

Victims Role Let the harasser know in an assertive way that the behavior is unacceptable.
Harasser’s Role Once notified, the harasser must stop the behavior immediately before receiving consequences from the school, or the law, or them both.
Communication Passive behavior- is equivalent to doing nothing except wishing and hoping the offensive behavior will stop. Aggressive behavior- is when a strong verbal or even physical force is used to stop a behavior. *Neither of these options is effective in communicating in general, and is ineffective when dealing with harassment.
How to deal with a harasser Assertive behavior- Calmly, and firmly stating which behavior is offensive and requesting that the behavior stops.
