Law students of the future A personal study Debbie Ginsberg Educational Technology Librarian Chicago-Kent College of Law June 25, 2010
At least one is a future law studentprobably
My family is made up of lawyersalso pharmacists and librarians
They have 5 expectations about technology
It's ubiquitous 4 Mac laptops 3 PCs 1 PC laptop 3 iPhones 1 Treo 1 iPod Touch 2 XBoxes 1 PS2 1 PSP 2 Gameboys
It's intuitive
It's tactile
It teaches you
You communicate with it
What this means for law schools
Not just for law students
… but faculty & staff
Technology will be everywhere
It must be (the) easy(iest) to use
It is not limited by a keyboard
It is a vital educational tool
It keeps us all connected
So not only do we have to be ready for them
We have to be ready for them
Are we ready?
