There is huge inequality between people in their access to resources, to decision-making, to securing human rights and safety, and in their freedom from discrimination. Reducing inequality if both morally right and pragmatically necessary for global economic and climate security in the future”

This Project Will Help Schools... Empower young people to take actions to help create a more just world Deliver rich and exciting learning experiences Support students to reflect on topical global issues and themes Prepare young people for an active role in 21st century society

How it Will Work Two or more curriculum areas to participate in the initiative Leeds DEC provides Social Justice training and resources Departments use a Social Justice Framework to identify where Social Justice themes are currently taught and where there may be new opportunities Workshops (delivered by Southern advocates) Young people are supported to take action to raise awareness about Social Justice issues Schools cascade experience to two or more other schools

Year One Training delivered in thirteen schools 40 teachers received training 56 ESJ lessons produced Five teachers attended a successful seminar in Bulgaria Many great resources developed Links started with project partners
