Crispin: (aka Asta’s Son) Character Traits Brave Humble Serious Character Summary Crispin is forced out of his home town of Stromford England after John Ayecliff falsely accuses him of murdering a priest and stealing from the manor. He adventures to seek freedom and along the way meets Bear who helps him on his journey. Crispin is extremely religious and prays with his mother’s cross of lead every night. He is soon to discover that the cross of lead holds a secret that he might not be ready to accept.

Bear Character Traits Entertaining Generous A Leader Character Summary Thankfully, Crispin meets Bear on his journey. At first he enslaves Crispin and makes him a servant, however, he eventually shows his true nature when asking Crispin to become his apprentice. Bear tries to encourage Crispin to think for himself and to believe in himself.
